Gate-block

Today I want to show you the first update of 2014 which introduces the last block in the series of blocks I announced several weeks ago: The gate-block.

As shown in the video, the gate is a block which is most commonly used with the trigger block. It is supposed to forward signals and also perform simple operations on it. This allow you to automate and synchronize different processes.

Basically there are three different operations:
  • Negation (Inverts the signal that would come out of the block)
  • AND (Like the Boolean AND function - If there is more than one input it creates a signal on the output if there is a signal on all inputs)
  • OR (Like the Boolean OR function - If there is more than one input it creates a signal on the output if there is a signal on at least one input)
The gate block is for everybody who wants to go more into depth and build really complex stuff but at the same time you don't necessarily have to use the block in order to win a game. The next blocks will be much simpler and easier to use.

As I said in the beginning the gate block is the last block in the series. There are still some blocks that will be added to the game before or shortly after the release but I thought that I should work on more important things in order to get the game ready to be released. In the next weeks I want to focus on improving graphics, creating maps, fixing bugs and implementing what is still missing (Singleplayer levels, a better multiplayer-system,...).
